Gods Amongst Us

In these modern times of celebrity craze and Hollywood news medias filled with the latest celebrity gossip, there's always someone new to follow or undiely worship and adore. In past times where Egyptian Pharoahs and Caesars of the Roman Empire were even worshipped as living Gods, there comes out of the Caribbean Island out of Jamaica, a new God and a new Religion.

That new God is I, none other than the author of this blog, yours truly King Marcel Duvoix, and also His Holiness Grand Patriarch Marcel Duvoix, in ecclesiastical circles. As if Jamaica was not already filled with the pulsating lifeblood of the late superstar Bob Marley, whom popularized Rastafarianism, (a religion begun in the slums of Kingston Jamaica in the 1930's), then comes along the brand new religion of Legacism; begun in 2007. Legacism was actually founded in Ypsilanti Michigan in the United States, but I, it's founder {one of the self proclaimed Gods of this new earth age}, is originally of Jamaican blood by birth.

Jamaica is still reeling from past Gods like the late King Emmanuel Charles Edwards, whom singlehandedly and quite successfully established the now well known and globally respected Bobo Shanti order of Rastafarians. Then, there's the monumental Emperor Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia, whom most Houses (or Mansions of Rastafari) acknowledge as being a God.  There's also the revered Marcus Garvey, whom is a major catalyst in may ways, and whom many in Rastafari sacredly honor as a prophet. Then comes along, I myself, King Marcel Duvoix of the Royal House of Marceligue, the unabashedly global Grand Patriarch of the Legacitic Orthodox Church and also a God of my own peoples; whom I call the Marceliguennes.

Jamaica has seen many modern prophets and Gods come and go, and yet again, others still come to proclaim a message, a new religion, and even a new country and Royal House to go with all that stuff. What Legacism (my religion) does though, is include all: lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders, intersexuals, hijras, androgynes, genders, and any other sexual or gender identification as being fuly a part of the religion without prejudice.

Why another religion?, or who needs another religion amongst so many others out there, especially Legacism? Well, there have always been new religions and new ideas and philosophies, whether we realize it or not, and the Legacitic religion is just the continuation of that process. The world has not had a major world shift religion, since at least 2000 years ago. Will Legacism be that religion or catalyst? One never knows, but the point is, that there will be more strange and wonderful religions developed in the future, and new Gods to rise up to claim their place on the world stage.

The Royal House of Marceligue, is surely the face of a fast emerging powerful royal family dynasty, bred of Jamaican blood and heritage, and new Gods and new religions are nothing new to anyone; especially to Jamaicans themselves.  What is perhaps peculiar to Jamaicans though, is that this Jamaican born God is boldly proclaiming to be for the outasts and hidden peoples of the island nation, mainly speaking: gays, lesbians, transgenders and bisexuals.

Legacism, as strange as it appears as a religion right now, with its now vastly expanding literary canon of scriptures and poetic quirkiness, and its even stranger God, King Marcel Duvoix, is here to stay. Scriptural books so far for Legacism, includes: Holy Legacy, Holy Continuum,Versalicious; and Wordition. An interesting book to watch, is the fast rising Legacitic religious book, now shooting to fame, which is the erotic and deeply mystical book simply called "Versalicious," and described as the delicious word. These are strange times, yes, but we've always had strange times, for as long as human memory has existed, and truly, Gods are amongst us.
